If you’ve been paying attention over the past year, you’ve probably noticed Rolling with Scissors has grown into something a lot bigger than just a late-night community radio show. If you haven’t — well, let me catch you up.
While WORT, the station where Rolling with Scissors broadcasts every Tuesday morning, is a strong and beloved community signal, it’s not exactly a 50,000-watt blowtorch. But that doesn’t mean we have to stay small. Instead of complaining about broadcast limits, we did what independent radio has always done best — we found new transmitters. Not just radio towers, but every platform and pathway we could use to push deeper into the world.
Over the past year, Rolling with Scissors has expanded into a full-blown multi-transmitter operation, including: – Regular weekly posts on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, and X (formerly Twitter). – A direct RSS feed for listeners who don’t want to play the algorithm game. – Email reminders that go out directly — no spam, no filters, no junk. – A clean, updated blog and episode notes system with searchable archives, weekly featured images, and better SEO to help new listeners find us.
Every episode still goes out over the airwaves at WORT, but that’s just the starting point. Now, if you want to hear deep-dive album cuts, forgotten gems, full-album experiences, and storytelling through sound — you don’t have to be within 20 miles of Madison. You can tune in from anywhere.
In 2025, broadcasting isn’t just about radio towers anymore. It’s about using every available transmitter — traditional and digital — to get real, curated, human-built radio to people who are sick of algorithm-driven noise.
That’s what Rolling with Scissors is doing. And it’s only going to get bigger from here.
If you’re already listening, following, and sharing — thank you. You’re part of a growing wave of people who still believe music deserves more than just a shuffle playlist.
If you’re new, welcome. Every Tuesday morning from 2 AM to 5 AM Central, the signal still goes out live. And every week, online, it gets stronger.
Rolling with Scissors — Built by hand. Broadcast with soul. Transmitted everywhere we can reach.
