The Holy Knives

Point and I Don’t Wanna Win

The very first line I heard on Point was

“Roll another joint” so I did.

Once I was in the proper head space I found myself once again dancing around my house cleaning.

At the very least this ad experiment has done wonders for the cleanliness of my home.

First point of interest is that when I ripped this album to my computer it came up under the artist name Daniel Deshaime album name Em Attendant Noel which made keeping track of the files while I was writing this kind of a pain in the ass.

Being stoned didn’t help.

All the track names seem to be in Latin but with the other naming confusion I’m not sure if they’re the actual names.

That being said there’s not a bad song on it. You could say the album is on Point…that’s a terrible joke.

It’s a soulful album that sounds like a combination of She Wants Revenge and Hozier.

It’s a blusey post punk gothic sounding album that I can’t get enough of.

Thankfully I also bought the I Don’t Wanna Win Ep.

It’s only 4 tracks but sweet baby Jesus’s on a cross those tracks are tasty.

Killer is the title track with the refrain “I don’t wanna win , I just wanna let go” sung like a Haunted cross of Elivis and Jim Morrison over a catchy beat.

That’s followed by Damned which is the song from the ad.

In the ad he does a weird hand dance while singing which looked kind of funny until I watched the full music video. Where I realized he’s in hand cuffs hence the awkward hand dance.

Further pointing out the effects of the joint on my review process.

My own confusion aside Damned is one of the best songs I’ve heard in 2025.

The line “Sometimes I feel Damned” will have a permanent place on my play lists.

Let Me Rest furthers the soulful blues from Point with a slower plodding beat that drips of regrets.

Closing out this EP is Manipulator which is an ode to a toxic relationship that I wish I didn’t relate to so much but I’m glad this song exists to help me put some of my own issues to bed.

In Summary The Holy Knives are the Alt Blues Band you need in your life with or without the joint.
