Do You Actually Read the Comments and Check the Posts?

Social media is weird. And Instagram? Even weirder.

I’ve never really understood it. Why do you need an app just to post pictures or images? It’s not like cameras just showed up on phones yesterday. But honestly, I don’t think about it much—because I’m not a visual person. Audio is where I live.

So, here’s how I handle Instagram: I post a featured image from a recent Rolling with Scissors episode or blog post. Then, in the comments, I drop the web address so you can find the full thing—because Zuckerberg refuses to allow hyperlinks.

Now, some of you who understand this stuff better than I do might say, “But you could use a Linktree!”

Sure. But I still don’t really know what the fuck that means—and honestly, shouldn’t I just be able to give you the web address and have that be good enough?

There are 184 people following @rwsradio, but do any of you actually read the comments, check the link, and visit the site? Or do you just scroll past and think, Oh, cool image, and move on?

I’m seriously curious. Do you notice the comments? Do they lead you to the full post? Let me know. Because if Instagram is just a visual firehose that nobody actually clicks through, I might need to rethink how I use it.
