If you caught this week’s episode of Rolling with Scissors, you know we took a wild ride through the golden era of Talking Heads from 1977 to 1983. It’s amazing to step back and see how much ground they covered in just a few short years — and honestly, how weird, brilliant, and still completely human those records sound today.
We also changed up the playlist layout for this week’s post! After years of exporting playlists through Excel and fighting with formatting, we found a cleaner, easier way to lay everything out. Hopefully, it makes the episode notes easier for everyone to follow. I’d love to hear what you think about the new setup.

It took me a lot longer than it probably should have to appreciate Bono and all his eccentricities. U2 has always been “there” — always massive, always part of the cultural noise — but it wasn’t until I got older that I really understood the raw, messy, almost desperate energy that fueled their early records.
So next week, we’re taking a detour into the heart of it.
We’re going to explore U2’s first few years — Boy, October, War — and see where all that youthful ambition started. Before they were the biggest band in the world, they were just four guys trying to find a sound big enough to match the world they were running into.
