Is this thing on?
Look, after 30 years in radio, I thought I’d dealt with every weird transmitter glitch and dead-air phantom in the book. Then I met the Instagram API.
We are currently running a test to see if we can finally get Rolling with Scissors to auto-post to the ‘gram without having to manually sell our souls to Meta every time I hit “Publish.” If you’re seeing this on Instagram right now, it means we’ve successfully built a bridge through the bureaucratic nightmare that is Mark Zuckerberg’s 2026 “Year of Efficiency.”
The Digital Gatekeeper
For those of you who aren’t tech nerds, trying to get a blog to talk to Instagram is like trying to broadcast FM through a screen door. Zuckerberg and his team of data-hungry douchebags have made the API (the “digital handshake”) so convoluted that you basically need a notary and a blood sample just to share a photo of a microphone.
Between the landmark trials he’s currently testifying in and his obsession with “AI Superintelligence,” the Zuck has made it nearly impossible for the little guys—the creators who actually give the platform life—to automate a simple workflow.
Have something to say? We welcome your comments below — this is where the real conversation happens.
Each blog post is shared across our social transmitters, but those are just bigger antennas. The original source — and the signal we control — is right here on the blog. If you’re looking for other ways to stay updated on Rolling with Scissors, you’ll find our official transmitters linked below.
Spin the dial — we’re probably on it. Lock onto your frequency. Pick your favorite antenna below and ride the signal back to us.
