Today was supposed to be a celebration of the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. What we got instead was a grotesque circus: a propaganda parade staged as Donald Trump’s 78th birthday party. The only thing missing was a missile on a flatbed and a goose-stepping dance routine. And frankly, I’m not convinced that wasn’t in the original plan.
This wasn’t patriotism. This was cosplay. It looked like something ripped straight out of the Kim Jong-un playbook — a bombastic display of power, flags, fireworks, and music that screamed “look at me” while the country he claims to love is bleeding.
Let’s talk about that bleeding.
Minnesota: A Political Assassination
While Trump was playing emperor, Minnesota was reeling from a political assassination. Former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband were murdered in their home. Senator John Hoffman and his wife were shot multiple times in a coordinated, targeted attack. He survived surgery and remains in critical condition. The manhunt is ongoing for Vance Luther Boelter, a man who posed as a police officer to gain access to their homes before opening fire.
Let me say that again:
Two public servants were shot in their homes. One of them is dead.
And the President of the United States couldn’t even be bothered to pause the parade.
When asked for comment before the event, Trump gave a flat, deadpan “it’s a tragedy” and kept walking. Why? Maybe because they were Democrats. Maybe because he’s incapable of empathy. Or maybe — and I say this seriously — because his syphilitic, Alzheimer’s-addled brain can no longer process the difference between real pain and scripted TV drama. All he knows how to do is perform.
And today, he performed for the cameras.
Meanwhile, Iran Is On Fire
As if that weren’t enough, Iran is unraveling in real time. Protests, civil unrest, and violent crackdowns are escalating. The global community is watching, and so is Trump — likely wondering whether he can “help” in a way that gets him more screen time. But here’s the problem: Iran and Russia are allies, and we are not in a position to play global cowboy right now.
Any move Trump makes — even a symbolic one — could light a match in a room already full of gasoline. But he doesn’t care. He’s not thinking like a strategist. He’s thinking like a reality show host who needs a new plot twist for sweeps week.
Whose Music Was That?
And one more thing. During this jingoistic spectacle, they blasted popular music across the parade ground. I heard it. You heard it. I couldn’t help but wonder:
Did those artists give permission?
Do they know their music was being used to prop up a man who wants to be king?
Because if they didn’t, I hope they sue the living hell out of whoever approved it.
This Is Not Normal
What happened today isn’t patriotic. It’s not respectable. It’s not dignified. It’s not leadership. It’s performance art for the fragile ego of a man who thinks flags and fireworks can hide the rot behind the curtain.
While real Americans died. While a state searched for a political assassin. While the Middle East erupted again.
He danced.

You stated that “his syphilitic, Alzheimer’s-addled brain can no longer process the difference” and I completely agree. And I wanna add one more thought: In his younger days, when he could have processed the difference, he didn’t.
He simply can’t be bothered with petty little things like the suffering of other people.
