The Great Olive Salsa Crisis of 2026

I moved to Eau Claire with a few simple expectations: good people, decent views of the river, and easy access to the legendary Becki’s Mediterranean Olive Salsa. Last summer, I had my first taste of that Sicilian-style green olive magic, and it was game over. I didn’t just like it; I fell in love with it. It became a staple—the kind of thing you plan your entire snack rotation around.

Fast forward to today. The weather is turning, the “The Signal” is strong, and the cravings are hitting hard. Since I’m usually rolling around the downtown area in my chair, I headed over to the grocery store right next to Phoenix Park—the one where I used to score my fix.

I rolled through the aisles, scanning the shelves like a man on a mission, but the spot where the jars usually sit was empty. I flagged down one of the employees, and they gave me the news that nobody wants to hear: they don’t carry it anymore. They mentioned something about Becki not being able to keep up with the demand.

I figured, “No problem, I’ll just hit the Farmers Market.” It’s opening weekend at Phoenix Park, so I headed over there, fully expecting to see the Becki’s Kitchen banner flying. I did a full lap of the vendors, but no dice. No salsa. No Becki.

I’m officially bugged out. When you find a local product that’s this good—especially when it’s within a short, accessible distance from home—it becomes part of your routine. Now that it’s missing, there’s a Mediterranean-sized hole in my life.

Becki, if you’re reading this: we need to talk. Your salsa is the gold standard, and the downtown fans are feeling the drought. Where can a guy in a wheelchair get a consistent fix without having to launch a full-scale search party?
