If you want to know just how far we’ve fallen, look no further than what happened to Rep. Al Green.
During Trump’s not-really-a-State-of-the-Union address, Green stood up and called out the lies. He didn’t shout. He didn’t throw anything. He just spoke.
And for that, they threw him out.
Let’s be real—this was a power move. The message was loud and clear: If you challenge this, we will remove you.
But that wasn’t enough for them. The very next day, the House voted to censure him. They wanted to make it official. They wanted to make it sting.
And the worst part? Some Democrats helped them do it.
A Moment of Truth
When Green was escorted out, it should have been a wake-up call. This is no longer a functioning democracy in the way we were taught to believe. When the ruling party can silence opposition on the floor, it’s a sign of what’s coming next.
So what did Democrats do?
Some of them stood up. Some of them protested. But not enough.
Because at the end of the day, they still let it happen.
And let’s talk about the Democrats who voted to censure him. They want to act like they’re above the “chaos” of it all. Like they’re the responsible adults in the room.
News flash: You don’t get points for playing fair when the other side is tearing up the rulebook.
How Much More Are We Supposed to Take?
At what point do we admit that we are watching a government turn into a dictatorship in real time?
Because I don’t know how much clearer this can get.
They removed an elected official from the chamber for daring to speak against the ruling party’s leader.
They censured him the next day to make sure everyone else got the message.
They changed the rules of the game while everyone was still playing.
And the worst part? They’re just getting started.
Now, I’ve got an uncomfortable question for the people still clinging to the idea that the system will save us.
At what point do Democrats need to get over their fear of guns and actually go read the Second Amendment?
Because, excuse me, but wasn’t the entire point of the Second Amendment to protect the people from a tyrannical government?
Well, guess what? We’re there.
I know a lot of smart people. People who see through the bullshit and know exactly what’s happening.
But those same people? They still think the government is going to save them.
It’s not.
So if we are just supposed to sit here, watch this unfold, and keep playing by rules that no longer apply, then what happens next?
Are we just waiting for them to decide that elections aren’t necessary anymore?
Are we just hoping they’ll let us keep some of our rights as long as we behave?
Because I hate to break it to you, but that’s not how this works.
So What Now?
Honestly? I don’t know.
I wish I had some big, hopeful answer about how to turn this around, but right now, what can they do?
Say something? They did. And Green still got dragged out.
Protest? A few did. And the censure vote still passed.
Vote? Sure. But they’re already rewriting the rules to make sure that doesn’t matter as much.
This was a moment of truth. And the truth is, we are not ready for what’s coming.
So here’s the real question: Are we finally going to take this seriously? Or are we just going to watch it happen?
Because if this is where we are now, imagine where we’ll be in a year.
What do you think? Was this a breaking point? Or just another sign that we’ve already lost? Drop your thoughts—on the blog, not on social media. Because if we’re going to fight back, we need to control the conversation.
