Changing the Oil

Living with cerebral palsy means living with nonstop muscle spasms — and the only thing keeping mine under control is a surgically implanted baclofen pump. Every three months it has to be refilled or things get medically dangerous fast. What should be routine maintenance turned into a road trip, a rental billing mess, hospital bureaucracy, and a transportation system that wasn’t even sure a wheelchair user qualified for a wheelchair van. If I don’t laugh about it… I’m going to punch somebody.

I don’t talk about sports very often.

Disabled athletes are competing at elite, full-contact levels — from wheelchair rugby to sled hockey — yet the sports world continues to ignore them. Even moments that should have changed everything, like the Murderball documentary, faded back into silence. With the Paralympics pushed to the margins of broadcast coverage, this post takes an angry, unfiltered look at why adaptive sports are still treated like an afterthought instead of world-class competition.

Old Games, New Hardware, No Apologies

I’ve never really been a console gamer. Between accessibility, twitch-heavy modern games, and a lifetime of DOS classics, I decided to build the ultimate retro gaming computer—modern hardware dedicated to old-school games, a 40-inch wall-mounted monitor, and zero apologies.

We Were Warned

Rewatching The Terminator in 2026 doesn’t feel like nostalgia anymore—it feels like watching a warning we ignored. Judgment Day didn’t arrive in fire. It arrived quietly, disguised as efficiency, automation, and progress.

Wait. Nick Torres Is Fez?!

I was casually watching Grey’s Anatomy when my girlfriend casually detonated my brain: Nick Torres from NCIS is the same actor who played Fez on That ’70s Show. I have not emotionally recovered. This is a story about pop-culture betrayal, delayed realizations, and why some facts should come with a warning label.

Snow, Battleships, and a Faceplant for Christmas

Christmas in Eau Claire has finally started to feel normal again—right as winter reminded me how brutal it can be. Between snow that turns the city into planet Hoth, driving my wheelchair in traffic to avoid ice, a faceplant off a curb while carrying beer, and watching the news roll out battleships, ballrooms, and vanity projects, this feels like the perfect end-of-year snapshot. Funny, frustrating, and just a little surreal.
